Review : These Shoes Stink... Literally!
First let me say that I've been running in NB 587's for about 12 years. I'm 6-4, 220 lbs and in my opinion the support they give a big person is great. However, the last pair of running shoes I bought were Asic's for one reason only. My last two pairs of New Balance 587's give off a horrendous stench that smells very much like a cat's litter box. I noticed it at first when my next-to-last pair of 587's had been replaced and relegated to yard work shoes so I thought it had something to do with old components breaking down in the environment the shoes were being used in. But my most recent pair had to be replaced by new running shoes after only a few months, not because of wear, but because I couldn't stand the stink anymore! What's more I couldn't even move them into the "knock around shoes" category because of the smell. I tried leaving them in my garage but after it became nauseating to enter the garage I started leaving them outside on the back porch to wear when working in the...
